Don’t we all miss summer during these cold winter months? This week’s MVOTW selection will take you on a little getaway with LES GARÇONS DE L’ÉTÉ (The Boys From Summer) by Sébastien Delage.
In this song, the French singer is reminiscing about all the boys he had summer romances with. With a beautifully dreamy animation, director Julien Hazebroucq brings Delage’s stories to life in a way we all relate to. Set in different places in France, we follow our protagonist everywhere from skinny-dipping, to hooking up on a boat, to swimming with jellyfish as mermaids. This stylised and romanticized version of summer romances makes you long for that beloved season. Even when our protagonist ends up heartbroken under Paris’s grey sky, he still happily reminiscens…
