FROM SCREEN TO STAGE

From Screen to Stage: The Performers of Berlin Music Video Awards 2026

At the Berlin Music Video Awards, every performance begins with a submission. Once an artist sends in their music video, they enter our booking radar – not just as filmmakers, but as potential live performers. We look for artists with strong identity, distinctive style, and the ability to translate their vision beyond the screen. Supporting promising talent has always been part of our concept, with artists like The Blaze and Cobrah appearing on our stage early in their careers. Each year, we reinvent the program, curating performances directly from our nominees, Silver Screenings, and standout applicants.

The Berlin Music Video Awards are a unique fusion of an awards show, a film festival, and a music festival. And at its heart is Gretchen, a 19th-century structure turned into one of Berlin’s busiest and most iconic venues for alternative music.

June 11 – The Opening Night

We open with a strong international and genre-diverse set of performers. Singaporean electropop artist Jasmine Sokko joins the lineup, having been nominated in the Best VFX category with “Burnout Dynasty”. Her futuristic sound and sharp visual identity made her stand out instantly.

Berlin-based DJ Paura Diamante sets the tone with a set rooted in minimal wave, dark disco, and underground ‘80s influences – bringing a deep connection to the city’s club culture.

From our Silver Screenings, Pandora Nox‘s nominated video “CHEZ MOI: EAT PU$$Y NOT MEAT” is one of the boldest and most talked-about submissions this year. Pandora will act as the trophy mascot of the day, marking each win with her appearance. Her multidisciplinary approach – blending performance, fashion, and music – perfectly reflects the Award’s spirit.

Saint Ahmad brings a completely different but equally powerful energy to the BMVA stage. A genre-blending artist born in Tokyo and trained in dance in the US, he merges UK club, Jersey club, pop, R&B, and hip-hop into a fluid, high-energy sound rooted in movement and expression. His performance style is driven by charisma, physicality, and presence – where music and dance become inseparable. Following the selection of his video for this year’s Bronze Selection, Saint Ahmad performs on the main stage, delivering a dynamic show centered on freedom, self-expression, and connection.

Closing the opening day, Rick Feds brings a performance that captures the experimental edge of the Berlin Music Video Awards. As a multi-instrumentalist, producer, and audio-visual artist, he turns the stage into a fully immersive instrument. Widely regarded as one of the most innovative finger-drummers of his generation, his work goes beyond technique into something closer to a new art form. Taking over Box 2, his high-energy pushes the limits of what a single performer can create in real time, leaving the audience with a glimpse into the future of live performance.

June 12 – Experimental Day: Fetish, Kinky, and Dark!

The second day focuses on experimentation and curated performances, where visual storytelling and live expression merge.

JEDY DEADY presents a live show built around her nominated video “FALLEN ANGEL”, featured in the Best Experimental category. Her dark, industrial sound and immersive aesthetic made her impossible to overlook during the selection process.

From Belgium, HannaH Stamina brings their work “Let Me Be Myself”, nominated in the Most Bizarre category, into a live setting. Their surreal, visually driven universe exploring identity and transformation, perfectly aligns with the experimental core of this day.

Pinkii returns to the Berlin Music Video Awards’ stage after a past nomination, having first caught our attention through her earlier submission of “Addict”. Her strong visual identity and performance-driven approach made her an artist we wanted to join the program, this time as both performer and trophy mascot.

DOOSCHBAG adds raw punk energy to the lineup, delivering a chaotic and unfiltered live show. Their DIY spirit and instinctive performance style provide a sharp contrast to the more conceptual acts of the day – exactly the kind of balance we aim for in our curation.

June 13 – Glam Atmosphere and New Voices

The final day brings together emerging global voices and emotionally driven performances.

UK-based alternative rap artist Archy Moor is nominated in the Best Low Budget category with “Robbery Rings”. His stripped-back, honest approach to storytelling stood out immediately, and his presence adds a strong lyrical and narrative dimension to the lineup.

LUNA joins with “Away With The Fairies”, nominated in the Best Song category. Her dreamy, 80s-inspired “Fairy of Pop” universe blends soft nostalgia with emotional depth, creating a distinct atmosphere that translates naturally into a live setting.

Throughout the festival, the Burlesque Twins will act as trophy mascots, bringing elegance, charisma, and a strong connection to Berlin’s performance and nightlife scene.

Together, these artists reflect what defines BMVA: discovering talent through music videos and transforming those discoveries into live performances. It’s where visual storytelling meets the stage, and where new voices step into the spotlight.

Stay tuned for more program announcements!
