The Berlin Music Video Awards 2026 are about so much more than just screening incredible art, we are placing a massive emphasis on networking. The Stage Talks in Box 2 are your ultimate opportunity to peek behind the curtain, ask the questions you’ve always wanted to ask, and learn the success secrets directly from the world’s top creators.
Once the talk wraps up, everyone can stay in the room to grab a drink and talk. If you want to ask a director about their workflow, pitch a project to a producer, or just meet people who are making cool things, this is the place to do it.
Over the course of three days, we are hosting an impressive lineup of creators. Here is a sneak peak of what we’ll be covering:
June 11th: Behind the Scenes Moments
Glenn Schellekens (HannaH Stamina)
Glenn will take us inside the creation of a music video that completely redefines physical endurance. Discover how his terrifying yet mesmerizing creature, made entirely from blue tape, plastic, and stilts, came to life.
- Watch the Video: Let Me be Myself (Nominated for Most Bizarre)
- Bonus: Don’t miss the chance to experience the world of HannaH Stamina in person at their live show at the festival on June 12th!
Tomas Noi Emilsson
Tomas basically directed a full-scale action movie in a few minutes. Beyond the high-speed car chase and the rolling SUV in the Icelandic landscape, the video brings in classic cinematic tropes like tense casino scenes and classic heist-movie stakes. He’ll break down how he managed all those moving parts and heavy action setups.
- Watch the Video: She Knows (Nominated for Best Director)
PIA & Joe Sill
Get ready for a masterclass in massive, cinematic CGI scale. Artist Pia and Director Joe Sill will sit down to discuss the delicate process of translating a track’s raw, electronic emotional energy into a sprawling, futuristic sci-fi digital world.
- Watch the Video: Zukacoa (Nominated for Best VFX)
June 12th: Performance & Surrealism
Charley Palmer Rothwell
Proof that you don’t need a big budget to score an award nomination. Sometimes, one extraordinary actor is all it takes. Charley commands the screen in a single, uninterrupted, static shot that delivers a frantic, captivating internal monologue.
- Watch the Video: BUZZIN (Nominated for Best Performer)
Péter Becz
Hailed by our festival’s producer as a cinematic masterpiece. Director Péter Becz will unpack the “invisible narrative” behind his museum security guard protagonist and explain the stunning aesthetic shift from sterile interiors to the open countryside.
- Watch the Video: Peremvidék (Nominated for Best Performer)
Joseph Icaro
Step into an unsettling world of breathing tubes, clinical white voids, and total subversion. Joseph will share the practical safety challenges of shooting a performance artist fully submerged in a milky substance and discuss how far you can push the boundaries of the bizarre.
- Watch the Video: Mothers Milk (Nominated for Most Bizarre)
June 13th: Cinematography & Experimental Worlds
Badr Ezzat
The ultimate multi-hyphenate creator who wore the hats of writer, director, DP, and editor all at once. Badr will share his technical secrets for exposing rich, crisp low-light imagery in raw urban environments while keeping up with the rapid-fire energy of Coast Contra.
- Watch the Video: DON’T WORRY (Nominated for Best Cinematography)
Marie Castéra & Victoire Ditisheim
Representing Temple Cache, historically one of the most nominated production companies in BMVA history. Producer Marie and Art Director Victoire will dive into their company’s creative mission, their unique workflow, and the raging contemporary debate of AI versus old-school animation techniques.
- Watch the Video: Que Ce Soit Clair (Nominated for Best Experimental)
Máté Brauner
Is Hungary currently experiencing a massive creative renaissance in music video filmmaking? Máté will take us behind the scenes of his stunning, high-contrast experimental piece, which relies entirely on in-camera analog tricks, using real prisms and crystals right in front of the lens.
- Watch the Video: Three Cycles (Nominated for Best Experimental)
Petra Szászi
We close out our stage talks with Petra, who brilliantly bridged the gap between logistics and art by serving as both the track’s composer and the film’s producer. She will walk us through her day-to-day workflow, managing cutting-edge AI visual pipelines and explaining how her music directly birthed the video’s grotesque, fleshy visuals.
- Watch the Video: Gym Symphony (Nominated for Most Bizarre)
Join us in Box 2, bring your sharpest questions, and grab a drink to network with the brightest minds in the business. See you there!
