This week’s pick is Heart Shaped Bed by BED. Written by the band, directed by Andrea Crisc, and produced by farbfilm.
We had the chance to speak with director Crisc about the making of the video. Around 30 people were involved, and his vision guided the entire team, including cinematographer Anton, to create hypnotic visuals and theatrical cinematography. Crisc says part of the magic came from luck and the stars aligning: the right team, timing, and energy all came together, letting him push creative boundaries and turn limitations into opportunities.
🎶🕺The directors favorite moments include the disorienting club montage and the serene opening shot – which showcase his ability to balance chaos and calm. Every decision reflects his care in weaving the two main characters into a narrative that captures the song’s gender-fluid themes.
💔🌱 At its core, Heart Shaped Bed explores coping, escape, and rediscovery—through intimacy, euphoria, and solitude.
